A Chance Meeting
Some time ago, Nathan was looking for a renovation project. He bought an Edmonton area home that was in foreclosure. This Alberta property needed a great deal of renovations as it was in poor condition. Sadly, the homeowners were snowbirds and while they were away their furnace quit. Unfortunately the pipes froze and extensive water damage resulted. That incident combined with other mitigating factors, was just too much for them to look after.
While seeking a second opinion on the property at an Edmonton Real Estate Meetup, Nathan met Gert. That evening Gert just happened to be speaking about his experiences over the past several decades buying Edmonton houses for cash and renovating them. So after he was done speaking, Nathan approached Gert about the property he had just purchased.
After seeing the property that Nathan just bought off the Multiple Listing Service, Gert exclaimed, “Are you serious!?” It turns out Gert was one of the unsuccessful Edmonton cash house buyers who was bidding on that very same property! Many discussions followed about buying homes in Edmonton from sellers needing a quick sale of their property and how to best serve those potential clients. One thing led to another and Gert became the general contractor on Nathan’s renovation project.
A New Company Is Formed
After many lengthy discussions about buying homes in Edmonton without using a realtor, Gert & Nathan decided to cement a partnership and Sunrise Home Buyers was formed! Now they work together helping and educating Edmonton and area homeowners get out from under their problem properties.
