In our mid to late seventies we opted to have a house designed and built for us as we downsize our lifestyle. We were told that at “our ages” we were crazy to build a new home. We were unfazed however and had our dream downsized home designed for us. Bezooyen Contracting was recommended to us and we approached them with our plans. We were very impressed by their interest and their estimated cost to build our non-cookie cutter custom home. Gerrit was totally up for the challenge and was meticulous in adhering to the plans. In addition we were welcome to visit the site with very few restrictions and ask any questions we had. His patience was and is amazing. He always answered us politely and never showed any frustration when dealing with two oldies. With only a few details that need to be finished when the weather cooperates, we are certain that our home is all that we hoped for. Even at "our ages "we have made the correct choices both with our designer and builder. Thank you Gerrit and Jane for making this process as painless as possible with a great result. After researching and talking with many builders in southern Alberta we decided on Bezooyen Contracting. The people were friendly and easy to talk to about any and all of our concerns. My wife went in and sat with the designing department and got to build our "dream" home from the ground up including the styles, colors, and direction the house faced. They gave us multiple choices and ideas on everything involved in picking and pricing of materials during the designing and building stages. All through the build we were invited to come and check and ask questions as to how and what was being done. When we decided we wanted changes as we went along they never hesitated to help us. The date when they were done building was what they had told us from the beginning. After taking possession of the house if something was not quite right or was not working properly they came and fixed it, no questions asked. Previously farmers, Gerrit and Jane Bezooyen had built outbuildings for their own use, but began the business of creating beauty when they built their own home in 1998. Bezooyen Contracting was officially incorporated soon after and has since gained a reputation for building homes of classic beauty, quality workmanship and attention to detail. The Bezooyen’s mission is to live a life of purpose. Together, they enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, being involved in their community, traveling and living out their mission each day.
In 2014, Office Administrator extraordinaire, Viviana Gatica, joined Bezooyen Contracting. She is the friendly voice on the other side of the phone when you call our office or the first person you’ll see when you visit our office. From paperwork to organizing, ensuring efficiency and everything in between, she plays a large role in ensuring our success behind the scenes.
The following year in 2013, our Sales and Design Consultant, Jarret Hoffmann, joined our team. Jarret brings over 30+ years of experience in the home building industry. Jarret works closely with our clients to understand their needs and preferences. His wealth of knowledge and keen eye for design, provides guidance and expertise while always making sure budgets are on track.
The year 2018 brought on an elevated level of quality control when Gerrit and Jane’s son, Justin Bezooyen, joined the team in our Project Manager role. Justin has an exceptional attention to detail and ensures each home meets our quality standards from the ground up. He works closely with our trades and suppliers to adhere to timelines as well as all our clients to make sure their needs and preferences are met.
Finally, in 2023, Justin’s wife, Jericka Bezooyen, was brought on to work quietly behind the scenes as our Marketing Administrator. With a focus on letting the Bezooyen Contracting quality speak for itself, her goal is to showcase our beautiful homes to as many people as possible.
