The history Kenneth P Friesen is one that will probably echo in the experiences of so many others.
Back in 1992, Ken was laid off from his full time position working in accounting for a local business. As many businesses find, there just wasn’t enough need to justify having a full-time accountant.
Having to provide for his young family, Ken and his wife, Joyce, made the decision to take control of their destiny and decided to open Kenneth P Friesen Accounting in the Courts of St James Mall. Long hours of working, studying, and hustling followed.
A portion of his work actually came in from the company that had just laid him off. The rest came through holding open houses, getting through his first tax season and very quickly through referrals from happy customers.
The long hours and hard work began to pay off and the business eventually began to grow. It eventually outgrew the storefront in Courts of St James and moved all the way across the parking lot to the building on the corner of Booth Drive and Portage Avenue.
Kenneth P Friesen Accounting has continued to thrive and grow, with Joyce Friesen in the Office Manager and Bookkeeper roles.
Robert (Bob) J. Smith CPA, CGA joins them in a senior accounting role along with seasonal staff to help out during tax season.
With the building on the corner being scheduled for demolition, Kenneth P Friesen Accounting was happy to be able to return to its roots in the Courts of St James Mall in the tumultuous year of 2020!
