We take pride on the functionality and appearance of our facilities. We are constantly updating and improving our premises and equipment to keep our facility within the highest of professional standards. Whether it is our Chapel, Visitation Rooms, Coffee Lounge, or Reception Facilities, the flexibility of our layout allows us to accommodate a broad range of services. Our facilities can support everything from very large assemblies to the smallest of quaint gatherings. The funeral is an important opportunity to pay tribute to someone you loved. It is a time for relatives and friends to gather tell stories, to share memories, to acknowledge your loss and support one another. We are open-minded in providing a more personal arrangement to suit your needs and reflect the life of your loved one. We’ve worked hard to make the surroundings as comforting as possible, for you during this difficult time
BURIAL SERVICES
- For immediate burial, your loved one will be buried or entombed without a public service or gathering.
- A visitation, also called a viewing, calling hours, or wake, lets everyone gather together in a room with your loved one in an open or closed casket to say goodbye and comfort the bereaved.
- Funeral or memorial services can be held at a funeral home, church, or even your home. The service is for celebrating and honoring your loved one’s life. Both the visitation and service can be personalized to your loved one’s passions.
- Graveside, chapel, or committal services take place at the cemetery. They let everyone be present as their loved one is transferred to his or her final resting place through ground burial.
CREMATION SERVICES
- Interment is when you bury or entomb your loved one’s cremated remains. This can be in a family plot, memorial site, cremation niche or urn garden, or other indoor and outdoor locations. Please reach out to our staff for a detailed list of interment options.
- Graveside cremation services are similar to traditional ground burials, as everyone is at the burial of the cremated remains and honor your loved one through other meaningful tributes.
- Scattering is when you spread your loved one’s cremated remains in a memorial garden, cemetery, over water, or another significant location. You also can choose to scatter some of the cremated remains and retain the rest in an urn for interment or another form of disposition.
- By placing cremated remains in multiple urns, family members who live in different locations can each have their loved one’s final resting place close to them.
GREEN BURIAL SERVICES
If your loved one was passionate about the environment or enjoyed spending time outdoors, a green burial service may be the perfect way to honor their memory. It’s a meaningful way to pay tribute to their legacy while also being eco-friendly.
Our staff prides itself in offering a variety of green burial options. For more information about green burial services, please contact our staff.

RECEPTION & COMMUNITY ROOMS
One of the unique features at the Reid Funeral Home & Reception Centre, is the availability of our Reception & Community Room for receptions and family meals. We have the ability to cater everything from light lunches for small gatherings to full course meals for larger groups. We have on-site facilities to assist your family with the preparation of a post service reception, or a family meal between visitation periods. Based on our tradition of supporting local businesses, all food is supplied by local catering companies and is served by Reid Funeral Home Hostess/Host staff. Our Reception & Community Room is available to all families, service groups and fraternal organizations, even if your families services were provided at another firm.
VISITATION SUITES & CHAPEL
Our visitation suites have been tastefully decorated to ensure comfort and serenity at the time of a loss. Designed to be flexible in their use, our visitation suites can accommodate everything from a traditional period of visitation – to a more contemporary memorial visitation – to a private family service. Although our chapel is not intended to compete against the reverence and respect of the church, it has been tastefully designed as an option for those who do not wish a formal church setting. Conveniently located within the funeral home, it provides a dignified setting for family, friends and the community to gather together and pay tribute to the deceased.
