"Hi, I'm Sonia Clarke. I have read "The Music of My Life" by Cleoni Crawford. I'm presently writing my own book, "I'm still getting up." If Ms. Crawford can do it, anyone can. Her book is so detailed and transparent. It has its highs and lows (rhythmic plateaus). Nonetheless, I congratulate her for sharing her story which of course can educate others about the challenges of mental illness and of accepting the illness and trusting God can make a difference. No one is immune. Love you girl. Keep writing!!"
"Cleoni is an exceptional, smart, and very interesting person. She is passionate, very ambitious and creative. In the short time I have got to know her she has truly blessed my heart. Her book has also given me a better understanding of who she is and what she she has endured and overcome. Her book also helped me understand what people go through that have a mental illness. Her book is amazing and inspirational, and it will make you laugh and cry. I would recommend her book for all to read. Elaine

Cleoni Crawford - a woman on a mission. Conqueror of challenges. Mental health advocate. A leader in her own right. Cleoni is a U of T, George Brown College, and Centennial College graduate who has become a young, passionate and resilient entrepreneur and speaker on a mission to raise awareness about mental health by courageously telling her story in a new book entitled “The Music of My life.” Due to unfortunate circumstances that would take the lives of her sister and sister’s best friend, Cleoni’s struggle with mental illness inspired her to take a leap of faith and devote her life to mental health awareness.
Cleoni is no stranger to MEDIA! She has been featured in 100 Huntley Street, Daytime Toronto on Rogers TV, the 2009 Summer Company Commercial, CTV, Global TV, CBC Radio, Toronto Life, Globe and Mail, Shimmerzine Magazine, the North York Mirror, Snap, the cover of the George Brown College Newspaper, The Dialog, The Pregnancy Care Centre Podcast, The Blind Stigma Podcast and the Marvia Providence Podcast.
Her journey to recovery has propelled her to further her studies at Centennial College in the Addictions and Mental Health program where she obtained her diploma in 2023. Since being diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2006, she has been hospitalized 31 times, homeless, incarcerated, and suicidal. Despite this, she has taken her story to fuel her passion to give back as a mental health advocate, speaker and serial entrepreneur. Through her life and her initiatives, she hopes that she will show others that a diagnosis is not a death sentence but in fact that you can strive, thrive and live an abundant life despite your illness.
