Courage and Stick-to-it-ness is now the Formula for Success
Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Business over the past few years has been anything but predictable. I’ve likened it to learning dance for the first time. Where you first need to find the beat and once you do, when it changes you need to change with it, or you will get out of step.
These past few years business has been dancing around government restrictions, government support, and the economy. The dance floor remained full of dancing partners, but the longer the beat keeps shifting, it causes loss of business through no fault of our own. For all those who have suffered, our heart goes out to you; you were all like a part of our dance team.
Now there is a new beat on our dance floor – war has come to close to our doorstep. I can imagine learning the barn dances of times gone by, wherein tough times our neighbours and friends all came to the dance. It was like a breath of fresh air in times of difficulty. This was a time of courage, where no matter what happened you kept going. Quitting wasn’t an option, but you always had a community to pitch in and help you get through the tough times.
In today’s economy and climate of uncertainty, you will need the courage to keep going; you will have to get up every morning and speak to your mind with the promises from God. Focus on His promises, promises such as Isaiah 26:3. Your dance is now with God. We have to trust Him and rely on the body of Christ to keep you on the dance floor.
Take this time to do all you do with excellence. Those of us who do our very best, wherever God has placed, will see blessings on the work of our hands. Rely on others to help; the Body of Christ needs to work together more than ever. Look for the giftings of those in your circle of influence and don’t hesitate to ask for their help. And then be there to help them.
Unity in the body of Christ will get us through all that is now and is to come, no matter how difficult. In difficult times gone by one, of the outcomes has always been the gift of learning we need each other to survive. We are not an island unto ourselves.
Don’t give up! That’s what our enemy wants most! Pray unceasingly and ask for help.
