Matthew 10:32 “Therefore, everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.”
It is tough enough competing in the secular business world without adding any labels that may deter the chances for you to succeed. I have, on occasion, not been as strong in my stand for being a Christian in business as I should. But I have a feeling this year is our year to stand up and wear that label proudly as a badge of honor! I hope you will join us.
What does the business world think about Christians in business? It is interesting that when I googled this statement all that came up were articles on what sets a Christian apart in the marketplace. Now I would never say that none of the non- Christian businesses have the ethics that Christians Business owners should have. What I am saying is that you as Christian business owners know who you answer to, and His standards are higher than the worldly system.
It is easy to follow the world’s way of doing business; it is also sometimes very profitable. But I would challenge you that if you went into business just to make money and become successful, it will be hard for you to follow God’s design for business.
Below are some articles from large Christian businesses who stand on the Word of God. They are very successful.

So, what is God’s design for business, here is how I see it:
- Use the Bible as your guide. The basis for all your tasks for day-to-day operating decisions, as well as financing, marketing and sales, should all be built on the foundation of God’s Word.
- Trust God wherever you are at. From success to failure, in all things give thanks.
- Invest in others through actions and prayer.
- Listen to God’s leading. ‘Be still and hear His voice’.
- Stay out of Debt; It will lead you to make ungodly decisions.
- Don’t forego your family or faith for the sake of the business.
- Pray without ceasing.
- Give big. You cannot out give God!
- Be aware of how others see your business dealings. Make sure they would never be able to discredit the Christ in you!
- Your words are encouraging even in those moments of correction.
