We have heard many leaders speak of the “Great Reset.” This statement was taken from the World Economic Forum. There is an urgent need for global stakeholders to cooperate in simultaneously managing the direct consequences of the COVID-19 crisis. To improve the state of the world, the World Economic Forum is starting The Great Reset initiative.
As kingdom leaders in the marketplace, we too need to concern ourselves with a reset. I believe God is calling us to stand out and stand up, for there is a “Kingdom reset” coming. “What does that look like”, you ask?
Since the start of this year, I have heard three very clear words from the Lord on just this matter. First is the word honor, second is truth, and the third is trust. Our world has been in absolute turmoil. Why, because we have placed our trust in what the world’s systems have to offer; and lo and behold, they are crumbling.
Was it wrong to obey what the world leaders were telling us to do during this season of COVID? No, not necessarily, although it is very clearly stated Acts 5: 29 – But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men?” So, here is the caveat to following what the government has set in action. No matter what decision you face, have you truly sought out the Lord’s will for you? Remember, it is between you and God, not you and the government, or what other people have decided. If you have done this, I would say yes, you made the right choice. Will everyone make the same decision? NO! God works with us each individually. He knows every hair on your head, every thought in your mind, every intricate detail of your individual body. He, and only he, knows what is best for you.
Above all things, we need to honor God, and in everything we do, show honor to others. Yes, even if their actions may not deserve honor, it is the office God has placed them in that you honor, not what they have done. Think of the story of the woman caught in adultery. In that situation, Jesus made very sure that she knew what she did was wrong, but he showed her that she was worth more than her mistake. He loved and honored her by coming to her defense; yet He told her, “Go and sin no more”. Even in speaking to her accusers, he let them know very clearly that their actions were wrong, but he didn’t do it in a way that dishonored their person. He wrote in the sand; He didn’t shout it from the mountain tops.
I like this definition of honor – a good name, reputation. We have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. We must first and foremost place God in a place of Honor, His reputation and name is above all. Then, we need to make sure we show honor to people, not ruining their reputation. It is their choices that will remove them from a place of honor, ruining their reputation. Remember it is the Holy Spirit’s job to convict; it is our job to help them rebuild their reputation by honoring the person God has created them to be.
As these times keep us in turmoil our trust needs to be in God alone. He knows the truth and He is working for our good. Keep in constant contact with Him, He has a plan for our future, Jeremiah 29:11 is our portion.
It is not going to be easy but fear not!
