How to Discern Deception

“A discerning heart seeks knowledge” Proverbs 15:14

 

Okay, I don’t know if anyone else is struggling; emotionally, physically, and mentally but this season of COVID and political unrest has me experiencing all three. If you know me personally or would talk to anyone who knows me, they will tell you I am sometimes too strong for my own good. At times I need to step back and see where my life is out of whack. Not now, daily I feel like I am in a battle.

 

This is a spiritual battle beyond any I have ever experienced.  God is giving us discernment so we can start to see the hidden agendas and lies behind what is going on in this world. Then, He expects us to do something about it.

 

God never used the strong, He uses the weak to accomplish what He wants. Today I give up and say “Lord I am weak, and you are my strength. What do you want me to do or say?” I still haven’t received the answer! But I feel the pressure of the call, the “wait on the Lord” type of heaviness.

 

He is opening my eyes to see the lies of the enemy, lies of Satan happening all around me. As you must be seeing them as well; the political and medical lies all over the social media, TV, radio everywhere you turn. Even your friends don’t have the same truths you have.  Can we really tell what are lies and what are truths and what about those half-truths, how do we really know?

 

Oh, and then the other lies Satan will speak directly to your spirit. Those lies that say your business will never survive COVID, you are going to get very sick and perhaps die. Your loved ones are going to get sick and die.  Or maybe that the government is going to gain control of our lives, our finances, our freedoms, etc. It is putting us all in a tailspin, right where our enemy wants us – no longer can we trust what anyone says.

 

We as Christians all know our truth lies in the Lord. It is time to hear His voice, not ours, not others, not the media. We need to take our eyes off all that is around us and focus on what God wants to tell us. For me, He is reminding me “Fear Not” for He is in control, Seek and the Door will be open, don’t fight against flesh and blood, fight against the principalities of this earth. Be patient and wait, My truth will be told. I have the wisdom no one else has. Ask me and I will provide the wisdom you need. DO NOT LOSE SIGHT OF UNITY, YOU ARE ALL THE BODY OF CHRIST AND THE WORLD NEEDS YOU MORE THAN EVER!! Pray the Lord’s prayer daily, especially remembering “Thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.”

 

I am far from perfect in seeking God and hearing Him speak and yet I believe God sees my heart and that my heart is yearning for His truth. With God, and only God, will we be able to discern the deceptions of our enemy?
