Consumed by Confusion!
“He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.” Psalm 107:29
Ever feel like your day was a blur, a hub of constant activity that produced no results? This year for us has felt like that. We are growing and doing all kinds of great things, but it seems there is always so much more to do. In this era of constant communication and information, moving at the speed of the internet, chaos and confusion has almost become a state of normality. We see no way out, its like being in the eye of a never-ending storm, always changing direction. Our compasses are all out of whack, the magnetic pull is always skewed. I believe all of us is feeling this way. We are afraid if we take time to stop, reflect and reset our direction, that something will pass us by or, worse yet, we will miss an opportunity.
This past month I had enough of this confusion and chaos. I harnessed the energy of that storm and redirected it to look at what are the most important elements of our business. I started my focus there to create systems to ensure efficient structures and plans. Once we get through each of these elements, setting clear concise documentation for each of them, we will start to review the smaller tasks that we repeat daily. We will look at all we do and see what feeds our business healthy energy to direct the storm to do good not harm.
As we endeavored to do this it was surprising the results. We have not missed any opportunities but rather we are becoming more aware on how to create more opportunity for our advertisers and our team. Our team has become a united force communicating outward instead of inward. We discuss our stresses and our accomplishments.
I urge you to take the time to redirect your storm, harness the energy God has given you. As we have applied all the above, the most essential step we have taken is stopping long enough to hear God and then working as hard as we can to follow His direction. If you can’t stop long enough to hear Him, you will always struggle. He wants what is best for you and those you serve and those who serve you. He is your partner in life and that includes your business.
