We are seeking a Custodian to help maintain our church building and create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for our congregation and community.

Position Summary
The Custodian will perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained church environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Position Details
Hours of Work: 20 Hours per week, with additional hours when required by rental groups. This is a part-time, on-call position with a variable schedule. The successful candidate must be available to work some evenings and weekends, with the majority of hours falling on weekdays and Saturdays.

Rate of Pay: $18.34-$24.58/hour, depending on related qualifications and experience.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
The Custodian will be responsible for the following:

Maintaining Floors including vacuuming, mopping and scrubbing with floor washing machine
Cleaning and Sanitizing restrooms including monthly deep cleaning tasks
Performing routine cleaning duties throughout the building
Emptying all garbage and recycling bins
Preparing the sanctuary for Sunday services and events
Reporting any maintenance issues.

Qualifications

A minimum of 1 year of related experience
Related custodial training is an asset
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
WHIMIS training certification
Respectful of Trinity Baptist’s ministry direction, culture, and theological position
