Smart Home Designs Niagara is an innovative new business with a vision that everyone has the option to live in a creative home that is customized to their lifestyle. Specializing in steel structural insulated panel (Steel SIPs) design and build, Smart Home Designs Niagara has a unique offering of affordable, comfortable, and energy-efficient housing units that support the agricultural and residential sectors.
The company is growing and looking to add a part-time Sales and Business Development Representative to the team. This role will be focused on highlighting the benefits and value of our manufactured pre-engineered units which we believe is the perfect solution for a secondary detached residence, or Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). Smart Home Designs Niagara offers multiple housing solutions, and this role will specifically focus on developing growth opportunities and sales within this market. This role will interact with clients through all stages of the buying process and will be heavily focused on attending conferences and trade shows with the goal of converting leads to customers. The Sales and Business Development Representative will work closely with the internal team to achieve the goals of our customers and the company.
Our ideal candidate is someone with a passion for helping our community with much needed housing options. This role will begin part-time with the opportunity to expand into full-time.
Outcomes and Expectations:
1. Representing the company at various conferences and tradeshows. Conferences may require overnight travel and are typically 3 days in length.
2. Communicate the values and benefits of Smart Home Designs Niagara Steel SIP accessory dwelling units (ADUs) to clearly and effectively convey the product offering, and how it meets the need for innovative housing.
3. Draw on networking skills to seek out and explore new opportunities.
4. Capture prospect contact details and other pertinent information in CRM.
5. Follow up with customer leads post-show and schedule walkthroughs and/or meetings.
6. With strong collaboration and communication, work with the President, Project Manager and Business Manager as needed to lead the customer through the purchasing process from concept to signed contract.
7. Maintain relationship with the customer through the project execution stage to completion.
8. Successfully balance both time away from the office on the road, and time at the office for meetings with prospects.

1. Understanding the needs of our customers is critical. This new role requires someone who is a good listener and curious to understand the housing challenges while at the same time eager and persistent to offer the best solutions and meet sales goals.
2. Experience in cultivating lasting relationships that lead to trusted sales and referrals will ensure the mission and vision of the company are achieved.
3. Must have a vehicle and be willing to travel in Ontario. Part time work is ideal for you right now and you have the potential to help build this to a full-time position.
4. You have a good work ethic, enjoy challenges and working independently while simultaneously supporting the team. You are a business professional who is self-motivated, driven to achieve goals, organized, and flexible.
Salary: To be negotiated
Start Date: Negotiable. Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to begin during the Spring, 2025.
