We are rooted in attachment and trauma assessment and treatment practices utilizing the integration of the Word of God and neuroscience to provide our clients with the best care, support and healing. We support individuals (children, youth and adults), couples, and families within this practice/ministry with specialized and researched-based methods.
This position is for a full-time employee working for Tina J. Smith & Associates, a Registered/licensed therapist/Psychotherapist. This individual shall provide counselling/psychotherapy based on a shared view of ministry and a commitment to Christian values, creating an environment of trust, cooperation, grace, and enrichment for clients and this practice. This practice is established in the belief that people are designed with the capacity to heal and may need support from a trained therapist to “dig deeper” for healing.

Qualifications
Must have a minimum qualification of a Masters degree in a mental health field from an accredited academic institution.
Must be registered with a regulated governing body (College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, The College of Psychologists of Ontario or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario).
5 years of counselling experience (is preferred).
Must maintain up-to-date professional liability and general liability insurance coverage, each in an amount not less than $2,000,000.00 per occurrence or showing proof of professional liability insurance once hired.
General Responsibilities and Duties
Interest in individual, couples, and family counselling (direct and tele-health). There is an option to specialize in particular areas of interest.
Perform assessments and treatment planning to address the needs of the client(s).
Advocate on behalf of clients where necessary for further support in the community.
It is expected to participate in ongoing continuing education and personal/professional skill development.
A full-time associate is expected to work towards a minimum of 25-27 hours of direct counselling/psychotherapy hours per week (larger caseloads can be discussed).
Responsible for keeping oneself abreast of current developments in the state of the mental health field. This includes general awareness of areas not considered to be each therapist’s specialty areas.
Maintain accurate clinical records and up-to-date schedules on shared clinical practice software called Jane.
Benefits
Trained or willing to participate in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as this practice works with core wounds that occurred during developmental stages about attachment wounds, historical and present-day traumas that can only be effectively accessed through somatic/sensory and emotional state forms of treatments.
The owner pays 50% of the EMDR training for one year after showing the use of the modality.
EMDR Consultation is provided by Tina Smith (Director/Owner) at no cost.

4% Vacation Pay Earned
6% Vacation Pay Earned after working five years.
Salary/Wage and Hours
Employee commission-based position where associate’s salary is 50% of hourly rate charged to clients, but increases to 60% after employed for five years.
Daytime hours and at least two evenings per week (Saturdays are your consideration).
The work schedule is flexible and discussed in partnership with the director. You can set your schedule around family responsibilities in collaboration with the Director.
